I had the best nurse to help me through labor and I hate that I cannot remember her name because I met her with only contractions on my mind, but she was phenomenal and so gentle. Ame and Angela assisted with my labor/birth, and by assisted I mean very minimal physical touching and many words of encouragement which is exactly how birth should be! I felt (and was) very in control, and my body was the one everyone else listened to. Megan was on call, and she guided me through the process of labor and making sure I was comfortable before driving to the midwifery (which is an hour drive). My labor/birth/newborn care experience was perfect. She is a true gem, and she treated me like a good friend rather than a patient which I loved. She would try everything to help me relax when I was struggling with high blood pressure. She has such a way with people and making everyone comfortable. Jhoanna always did my vitals for my appointments, she was so caring and did a great job at keeping my mind off of blood draws by talking to me about my job. was extremely helpful in consistently checking my insurance when it was time to make a payment to be sure I hadn’t met my deductible. All of the staff were so nice and helpful, being a first time mom I called whenever I had a question or concern (which was a lot, sorry Bailey!) and someone was always available to assist me right away. They are very thorough in making sure that you mee t the criteria to safely have a baby outside of a hospital. I had all of my prenatal care done here, and I really appreciated getting the chance to meet with all midwives throughout that 9mo so that I wasn’t meeting a stranger when it came time for me to have my baby. Obviously giving birth is memorable, but the team at Sacred Roots could not have done a better job at fulfilling my labor/birth plan. I had my daughter here in May of this year, and the experience is something I will cherish for a lifetime. I am grateful for a good hospital experience with my first, but my amazing experiences at Sacred Roots have set a new precedent for the level of care I wish every mom could experience. Sacred Roots considered so many facets that just make sense when caring for new moms. The care and support is unparalleled from what you'll find anywhere else: a small team of midwives who you get to know throughout your pregnancy education on what to expect and how to prepare for labor and postpartum research based approaches to “problems” in pregnancy (things that are natural, common occurrences, like babie s in breech position) a peaceful, spacious birth center where you're encouraged to labor and deliver as you prefer being released to return home hours after birth postpartum visits at your house or at the office where they gawk over your precious newborn. For my next two births I went to Sacred Roots. Thank you so much! … – showĪfter a completely fine hospital birth experience, I learned I didn't need all the bells and whistles offered at a hospital. I loved that I felt like I could contact the birthing center with all of my (many!) questions and concerns. My after care was also especially important to me. They gently offered suggestions, always asked permission before doing anything even heart rate monitoring, all of it was so perfect. They did not pressure me to do anything their way or rush me in any way. All of our previously agreed upon labor preferences were addressed, the staff whispered in the dark so I could labor peacefully without interruption or distraction. The midwives and nurses at Sacred Roots were so respectful during my labor it meant a lot to me. Plus, everyone else who labors there does the same so I had to assume I could too! I am so grateful for the people who were in the room with me during labor. Of all the time I spend over-thi nking, I could not have been more confident about giving birth with the midwives and nurses at SR. I knew choosing Sacred Roots meant that I was giving up the option for an epidural but I wasn’t scared. I wanted to make sure I felt safe and heard, I wanted my birth philosophy to be respected as much as possible, I wanted to bring my baby into the world in a peaceful environment, I wanted the people around me to be patient and kind. I wanted a very specific labor experience and chose Sacred Roots because they aligned with my vision and the care was phenomenal.
